Job Title: Social Studies and Science Long Term Substitute Teacher (Grades 4–6)
Location: Elk Township School District, Aura Elementary School
Employment Type: Full-time Long Term Substitute
Start Date: November 1-November 25, 2025

Position Summary:
We are looking for a certified teacher to lead engaging and standards-based instruction in both Social Studies and Science for students in grades 4 through 6. The ideal candidate will inspire curiosity, critical thinking, and a love of learning while promoting cross-curricular connections and hands-on, inquiry-based learning.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver daily lessons aligned to NJ Student Learning Standards
• Develop interdisciplinary units integrating social studies and science content
• Use a variety of instructional strategies to support diverse learners
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom culture
• Design assessments and analyze student data to inform instruction
• Communicate regularly with parents, colleagues, and administrators
• Participate in team planning, professional development, and school-wide activities

Qualifications:

• Valid New Jersey K–6 Teaching Certification (required)
• Bachelor’s degree in education 
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills
• Familiarity with project-based learning and technology integration a plus
